EMILY & TYLER

February 15, 2025
HOW IT BEGAN

October 2016 - Having no plans for Halloween, Emily was excited to escape to the Hill Country for the weekend with her Best Friend, Lauren. Lauren's family, the Bransoms, and two other families, the Ingolds and Andersons, often planned vacations together. Little did Emily realize this trip would be the first of many Brangoldson events she would attend.

Approaching the house, Emily was nervous to meet so many new people even though she knew she had nothing to worry about. Knowing Laruen's family, she was optimistic that everyone would be nice and friendly. As soon as, Emily walked into the house, she saw a guy she'd never met standing in the kitchen. She first noticed how tall he was and that he had bright blue eyes. This turned out to be Tyler and for the rest of the trip, they got to know each other and slowly realized they had much in common. Although it was Emily who initiated contact after the weekend was over, Tyler eventually asked Emily to be his girlfriend in June 2017. Over the next almost 6 years, Emily and Tyler explored new hobbies, attended many concerts, and traveled to several new places together. These past 7 years Emily and Tyler have built a strong foundation of support and friendship for their continued relationship and look forward to celebrating their union with family and friends before starting their new life of marriage.

SHE SAID YES

On May 27, 2023,  Emily and Tyler were visiting Salt Lake City, Utah, to explore the Valley in search of the best location for them to move to. What started as a typical vacation morning quickly turned into the best day. Waking up in downtown Salt Lake City, Emily and Tyler got ready for a morning hike in the foothills of the Wasatch mountains. Tyler had insisted that they hike on Saturday instead of Sunday, even though Emily thought it would be better to drive around visiting different attractions since most things would be closed on Sunday. Looking back, Emily is not upset at the timeline of events. Soon after beginning their hike, Tyler and Emily realized they had chosen the more challenging route. After taking many water breaks, sweaty and out of breath, they reached the summit of Avenues Twin Peaks. With no one else in sight, it was just the two of them overlooking the Valley below and the surrounding snow-covered mountains. Oblivious to what was happening around her, Emily took pictures and videos of the stunning view while Tyler prepared for the big question. As Emily turned around, she spotted Tyler on one knee with a ring box in hand. Emily and Tyler have different stories about how the question was asked and answered, but they both agree that they are getting married!
